We have been historians in literacy this week. We have been researching facts about Alexander Bell or Thomas Edison. Tomorrow we are going to be creating our own fact files about these inventors. Did you know that Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb, and Alexander Bell invented the telephone, making the first ever phone call! We used key words in our plan ready for writing them into sentences tomorrow.
This week we are learning about instructions. Today we have been following instructions through a range of activities, including directing beebots. We have had to work together and challenge ourselves.
In Class 2 we are learning all about Percy the park keeper, he invented a lawnmower that started to fly. Today we sequenced the story and when we were finished some of us practiced writing sentences about the story. We are all trying really hard to segment and blend our words to help our spelling.

On Sunday it was 100 years since the end of the 1st World War. We learnt about how the soldiers fought for our freedom and what this meant for us. We lay poppy wreaths to remember the soldiers and we wrote a message on them.
